Our Neurology Department provides general neurology clinic in Melbourne, Australia. Outpatient clinics as well as a range of specialist clinics for multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease and epilepsy. These specialist services are complimented by Neurophysiology diagnostic testing; EEG (Electroencephalography), NCS (Nerve Conduction Studies) and EMG (Electromyography).

The Neurology Department at CNC Victoria offers an efficient general neurology outpatient service in addition to specialist clinics in EEG, EMG and NCS a rapid access epilepsy (first fit) clinic. We remain within the 18-week target.

In addition the neurology department is supported by onsite neurology Specialists in Melbourne. We have access to all essential neurological investigations including EEG, NCS, EMG and lumbar puncture. There are close links to the CNC Victoria neurology Clinic in Melbourne.

CONSULTANT STAFF
There are currently 9 neurologists working in the department, all working partially at CNC Victoria and the CNC Victoria or part-time. As well as running general neurology clinics in Melbourne.

DR. RAJU YERRA:-
Dr Yerra is a Neurologist working in CNC Victoria and has private attachments in Melbourne Private Hospital, John Fawkner Hospital and Brunswick Private Hospital. After completing MBBS in India, Dr Yerra did his post graduate training as a resident and basic physician trainee in various hospitals in North island of New Zealand. He began his advanced training in Neurology in Wellington, New Zealand and completed it in CNC Victoria. He then completed a two year clinical and research fellowship in Epilepsy in CNC Victoria. He has been working as a consultant neurology Clinic in Melbourne.

Working in CNC Victoria, a leading institute in neurological care, allows him to keep abreast of all new developments in management of neurological disorders.

PROF. MARK PARSONS
Mark Parsons is an internationally recognized leader in Stroke and Neurology. He holds the Professorial Chair of Neurology, University of Melbourne, and is the Director of the Department of Neurology, CNC Victoria. He published many scientific papers and had been a recipient of many national and international awards. Besides being a world leader in stroke, Mark maintains an interest in general neurology and is happy patients with all kinds of neurological ailments.

Even though Dr Yerra has a sub-speciality interest in Epilepsy, he has expertise and is happy to see all other neurological problems. Dr Yerra is passionate about clinical neurology and over the years has accumulated enormous experience in management of common neurological ailments such as headaches, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease etc.,.

DR. CHRIS FRENCH
Dr French is a consultant Neurologist at the CNC Victoria practicing in General epilepsy and neurology clinic in Melbourne. He did his undergraduate study at the University of Sydney and completed his neurology training at The Alfred Hospital and Monash Medical Centre.

He is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne and has published widely in both clinical and basic sciences, and was formerly a member of the NH&MRC National Health Committee (2007-2009).

DR. SIMON LI
Dr. Li is a Neurologist who is also a qualified clinical neurophysiologist and epileptologist. He provides a comprehensive service including clinical Neurophysiology, epilepsy management and neurology consultations across the inner parts of Melbourne. He has clinical neurophysiology services at Comprehensive Neurological Care Victoria (CNCV) and Malvern Neurophysiology in Cabrini Hospital. He runs one of the Epilepsy Assessment Clinics at the CNC Victoria, as well as the First Seizure Clinic in the Western General Hospital. He provides neurology consultation services at CNCV, Melbourne Private Hospital Parkville, John Fawkner Private Hospital Coburg, Brunswick Private Hospital, Northeast Rehabilitation Centre Ivanhoe and Cotham Private Hospital Kew. He is the director of clinical neurophysiology training at Western General Hospital, and is a lecturer of neuromuscular diseases curriculum for the Doctorate of Medicine course at the University of Melbourne.

Dr. Li's main role at CNCV is the provision of clinical neurophysiology service, performing nerve conduction studies and EMG for the diagnosis of focal entrapment neuropathies, peripheral neuropathy, plexopathy, radiculopathy and other neuromuscular diseases.

DR. NYAN LYNN
Dr. Nyan Lynn is a Consultant Neurologist and Clinical Neurophysiologist at the Sunshine Hospital, Melbourne, and visiting Consultant Physician at the University Hospital Geelong. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and member of Australia and New Zealand Association of Neurologists and American Association of Neuromuscular & Electro diagnostic Medicine.

He completed his neurology training at the University Hospital Geelong and the CNC Victoria (RMH), with a fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology at RMH. He practices as a general neurologist and has a special interest and expertise in neuromuscular conditions, particularly peripheral neuropathies and myasthenia gravis.

He provides neurological consultations; neurophysiology services (nerve conduction studies and electromyography) for the diagnosis of neuromuscular disorders and Botulinum toxin (Botox) therapies for various conditions including cervical dystonia, blepharospasm, hemifacial spasm, axillary hyperhidrosis and chronic migraine.

DR. AI-LAN NGUYEN
Dr Nguyen is a Neurologist working at CNC Victoria, with consultation services at Melbourne Private Hospital, John Fawkner Hospital and Brunswick Private Hospital.

Dr Nguyen completed her undergraduate medical training at the University of Melbourne, with postgraduate training at the Western and Alfred hospitals. She undertook specialist training in neurology at the Austin and Alfred hospitals before being awarded the Australian and New Zealand Association of Neurologists (ANZAN) overseas fellowship at The Royal Free Hospital, London (UK). She has completed two fellowships in Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and Neuroimmunology, through the University of British Columbia in Vancouver (Canada) and the CNC Victoria. She is currently completing a PhD though the University of Melbourne, investigating prediction markers, volumetric MRI and pregnancy in patients with MS.

Dr Nguyen practises as a general neurologist with subspecialist experience in neuroimmunological disorders such as MS, neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) and neurosarcoidosis.

DR. HANS TU
Dr Tu is a consultant neurologist at the Western Health practicing in general neurology and stroke medicine. He completed his neurology training at the Box Hill Hospital, Footscray Hospital and Monash Medical Centre followed by further training in stroke medicine at the CNC Victoria.

He is an honorary research fellow at the Melbourne Brain Centre, the CNC Victoria . He has a number of publications in national and international peer-reviewed journals and continues to actively participate in clinical stroke research.

He is a foundation member of the Victorian Department of Health Stroke Telemedicine program that provides guidance for acute stroke management to a large number of Victorian emergency departments without local neurology support.

DR. JENNIFER NAGAO
Jennifer Nagao is a general neurologist and movement disorders subspecialist. Jennifer graduated from the University of Melbourne Medical School with Honours. After completing her neurology training (FRACP), she pursued sub-specialty training in movement disorders with fellowships in movement disorders at Monash Medical Centre and Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital before furthering her skills in deep brain stimulation (DBS) and movement disorders management as a clinical fellow at Henry Ford Hospital in Michigan, USA. She has experience in advanced therapies for Parkinson’s disease as well as botulinum toxin injections for dystonia and spasticity. Jennifer has research interest in functional movement disorders and Parkinson’s disease.

The medical centre is located at 161 Keilor Road, Essendon, on the corner of Keilor Rd & HedderwickSt.

On-site parking is available at the rear of the building and off-site with plenty of 2-hour parking on both sides of Keilor Road. We are located within minutes of major arterial roads; Tullamarine Freeway, City Link, Western Ring Road and the Calder Freeway.

Tram No. 59 (Gillies St/Keilor Rd. Stop 49 – Essendon North Primary School) comes from Elizabeth Street/Flinders Station is located about a one minute walk from our front door. Essendon train station is about 1.5kms away; from there you can catch the tram.
